The US central bank's two-day meeting begins on Tuesday. While the Fed is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged, investors are turning their attention to accompanying statement and the central bank's projections for clues about the outlook for rates.
At closing bell, the Straits Times Index (STI) index edged up 1.25 points, or 0.04%, to 3,242 after trading between 3,227.64 and 3,249.76. Volume of 1.24 billion shares worth S$762.21 miillion changed hands. There were 250 gainers and 259 decliners.
DFI Retail Group was the top gainers for the day, adding 3.49% to S$2.67. Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust was the top loser for the day, falling 2.64% to S$1.10.
